Sculptra is carefully injected into the targeted areas. A topical numbing cream can be used to maximize comfort during injection. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch with some mild pressure that fades quickly. A typical session takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
Temporary swelling or bruising may occur but usually resolves quickly. For best results, follow the “5-5-5” rule: gently massage treated areas for five minutes, five times per day, for five days.
