What Kind of Results Can I Expect?

Results are dependent on individuals, so it is unreasonable to make promises or guarantees. On semaglutide, once you reach the full dose at 9-16 weeks, it is typically a steady 1-3 pounds of weight loss a week.

How Fast Can I Expect to See Results?

With this treatment, you may not start losing weight until 6-8 weeks of treatment. You will start this treatment with low doses and increase slowly to avoid negative side effects. It takes 9-16 weeks to be at the full dose/strength.

Am I a Good Fit for This Treatment?

This treatment is a particularly good fit for you if you are looking for a long-term solution and/or you need to lose more than 10-15 pounds. This is also a good strategy for pre-surgical patients who are not at their ideal weight prior to abdominoplasty or other various cosmetic surgeries.

You canNOT be treated with semaglutide in our practice if you have:

  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
  • Diabetes
  • History of pancreatitis
  • History of multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Gallbladder disease or gallstones
  • Nursing, pregnant, or trying to get pregnant

What Are the Common Side Effects?

  • GI side effects – nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain
  • Site reactions
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Increased sensitivity to alcohol

Is This Injection Painful?

No, unlike vaccines or many other shots/injections you may think of, this injection is done with a tiny needle that only goes under the skin, not into the muscle.

What Do I Do if I Miss a Dose?

You should take the missed dose as soon as you recall. Skip it completely if it is less than 48 hours before the next dose.
