What to Expect During Your Sculptra Appointment
Before
Your consultation begins with a dermatology physician assistant who will review your goals, study your facial structure, and design a plan specific to your needs. You may be advised to pause certain medications or supplements that increase bruising risk.
During
Sculptra is carefully injected into the targeted areas. A topical numbing cream can be used to maximize comfort during injection. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch with some mild pressure that fades quickly. A typical session takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
After
Temporary swelling or bruising may occur but usually resolves quickly. For best results, follow the “5-5-5” rule: gently massage treated areas for five minutes, five times per day, for five days. Your improvements appear gradually in the weeks and months that follow as your body creates new collagen.
